My Montana Grizzlies football jersey arrived last week and I eagerly tore into the package. I expected the number to be 12 (standing for the extra man on the field). However, when I opened up the surprisingly small package from the university book store I found that I had been assigned number 37.
Being curious about what position that means that I would theoretically be in I looked it up. Here's what I found:
"Jersey Numbers 30-39 are designated to running backs, safeties, cornerbacks and fullbacks."
Something new for me. I knew the numbers had specific meanings, but didn't know that the ranges were specific to positions on the field. Cool!!
